An early stage life science fund, a first of its kind initiative, has been created with the intent of providing seed stage investments in order to promote technology advancement and IP driven innovations in emerging technologies. The fund will also endeavor to encourage entrepreneurship and enable start- ups to reach a stage of self sustenance and growth. This fund is targeted at early stage companies with a core focus on creating Intellectual Property, and academicians, researchers and incubates looking to commercialize inventions. The fund will operate through an independent entity that is currently being set up.

Job Description:

1) The Investment Manager will be responsible for managing the entire operations of the Fund from deal sourcing, through the investment process and till divestment in the identified focus sectors of the fund in either the Information Technology or the Life Sciences/Medical Devices streams.

2)Identifying investment opportunities, valuation, portfolio management, and the operational activities related to the day to day running of the fund will fall under the ambit of the Investment Manager’s role.

3) The Investment Manager will also be responsible for exploring and identifying exit options and in guiding the entrepreneurs through their equity dilution process.

4) Exposure to technology in the Life Sciences/ Information Technology sectors or with a Venture Capital firm with a focus on these sectors

Candidate Profile:

1) Prior experience of a minimum of 3 years with a Venture Capital firm.

2) Demonstrated ability to evaluate start-up companies

3) Demonstrate a genuine desire to nurture entrepreneurial activity in disruptive

technologies
