Job Description:

1) Design statistically valid safety and PK studies – understands what metrics are important for animal study design and how to calculate those values.
2) Evaluate and troubleshoot animal safety and PK studies – understands when experiments are valid and when a study needs to be redone, knows how to troubleshoot problems with animal studies from formulation of compound administered to blood draw and endpoint analysis, how animal care affects the study, etc.
3) Troubleshoot analytical methods that have been developed offsite (US parent company) and make sure that they work locally. This includes plasma extraction and HPLC/LC-MS analysis of plasma.
4) Perform basic PK analysis and interpret the results.  Understands how to evaluate the validity of the experiment including using statistical methods.
5) Has a basic understanding of what safety and PK values are considered “good”, “bad”, good enough for scientific publications and generally accepted in the US pharmaceutical/drug development industry.
6) Good written and verbal communication skills.

Candidate Profile:

1) PhD in pharmacology with 10-12 years Industry experience.
