Job Description:

Responsibility:

1) Independently perform molecular biology experiments, process and analyze data. Relevant procedures include media preparation, DNA isolation, DNA amplification, restriction digest, ligation, transformation into microbial hosts, strain cultivation.
2) Operate relevant lab equipment supporting the metabolic engineering research work processes - electrophoresis equipment, PCR machine, imaging system, incubators, etc.
3) Schedule and manage project work tasks in alignment with the overall team schedule for work flow.
4) Recognize when results deviate from expectations and identify opportunities to improve standard operating procedures.

Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated:

1) Mutagenesis, DNA isolation, DNA amplification, restriction digest, ligation, transformation into microbial hosts, basic microbiological practices.
2) Technical report writing, presentation skills.
3) Should have project management skills.

Candidate Profile:

1) Post Graduate with minimum 6 to 8 years or PhD in Molecular Biology with minimum 2 to 3 years of industrial research experience.
2) Should have Participate actively in scientific research while continuing to develop molecular biology skills.
3) Should have basic knowledge of fermentation, basic understanding of biochemical pathways.
4) Should work in a multi-disciplinary environment across various technology domains, work efficiently & effectively and possess the ability to deliver on commitments on time & within the budget.
5) Should demonstrate openness to new ideas and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
6) Should possess the personal attributes of integrity & scientific creativity.
