Job Description:

Responsibility:

1) Independently design and execute multiple gene cloning experiments, strain construction, gene knockouts in fungus.
2) Work in a collaborative environment with other molecular biology and biotechnology specialists, interacting effectively across multi-functional teams to achieve project goals.
3) Operate relevant lab equipment supporting the metabolic engineering research work processes - electrophoresis equipment, PCR machine, imaging system, incubators, etc.
4) Schedule and manage project work tasks in alignment with the overall team schedule for work flow.

Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated:

1) Mutagenesis, multiple gene cloning, gene knockouts, basic microbiological practices : In fungi
2) Technical report writing, presentation skill.
3) Should have project management skills.

Candidate Profile:

1) Post Graduate with minimum 10 to 12 years or PhD with minimum 6 to 8 years of industrial research experience. (Industrial experience in the area of fungal genetics is preferred).
2) Should have Basic knowledge of fermentation and in depth understanding of biochemical pathways.
3) Should work in a multi-disciplinary environment across various technology domains, work efficiently & effectively and possess the ability to deliver on commitments on time & within the budget.
4) Should demonstrate openness to new ideas and is expected to generate commercializable ideas for new products & processes.
5) Should possess the ability to coordinate & lead projects & programs through a structured stage-gate process.
6) Should possess the personal attributes of integrity & scientific creativity.
